We have had a lot of change over here at High Fitness. New logos, apparel, slogans, and a brand new app! But one thing has stayed the same, and thats our commitment to helping you fall in love with movement and with yourself!

Our mission is to be inclusive and make it absolutely clear that ANYONE can do High Fitness. From an olympic athlete, to a mom recovering from toddler fatigue, to a grandma who is still kicking (shout out to grandma Suzy), everyone can get a good workout. To help with that, here on the High Fitness App we have a ton of different class options. From time, type, and intensity, we have something for everyone.

Looking at all the options can be a bit overwhelming, so I sat down with Amber and Emily to chat with them about each of the formats that we offer at HF.

HIGH, LOW, YO, Let’s GO!

HIGH - The Class That Started it All
“HIGH will always be the crowning jewel of our brand, nothing beats that post-HIGH class glow” Emily and Amber had a lot to say about the original High Fitness format. We all should know how the High Fitness brand came to be (if not, keep your eyes on this page for something coming soon!), Emily and Amber wanted to create an aerobic class that was as hard as it was fun.
Now, scientifically, HIGH would be considered a HIIT workout, but you would never know because you are having so much fun. Emily and Amber talked about how HIGH is the perfect combination to beat the blues, get yourself out of a funk, or just smile. “That is why we came up with the new phrase, “you can do fun things” we want people to feel that when they come to a High Fitness class.” said Emily. It is important to note that while HIGH is a high intensity workout, you can take it at ANY LEVEL. “I have all levels in my classes” Emily said while talking about HIGH, “just know yourself and know how hard to take it. Everyone will have fun and sweat a lot.”

LOW- The Class for Everyone
I asked Amber about the inspiration behind creating LOW, she said, “We started with our signature HIGH class, high intensity, but when everyone is doing something like tuck jumps or burpees, people feel pressure to do the same, even when it might not be the best for them.” Amber really emphasized the point that High Fitness is inclusive, everyone can be a part of HF, but they felt like there was still a barrier. “People might look in the windows of the gym and already decide in their heads that they can’t do it, so we created something new.”
LOW has the same signature formula and format as HIGH, but with low impact moves that everyone can do. Now Emily made it clear that low does not mean less than. “LOW is a steady state workout, and it is just as good of a workout as HIGH. The energy and the intensity is still there, it's just the lower body that changes.” A lot of HF fans like to balance their HIGH days and LOW days. Last year, Emily faced a pretty crazy health crisis, “When I felt like I finally came back from the dead, I stuck to LOW level one pretty strictly, and honestly, I couldn’t believe how good of a workout I was getting. I want people to understand the power of level one. You can get out all that you put in.” They both said that its been super fun to watch people fall in love with LOW.

YO- The Format that Changed the Game
Did you know how YO came to be? I did not, and I loved hearing the origin story from Amber. “During COVID, we wanted to treat our staff to something fun and do some team building from our homes. We found this girl who would teach yoga over zoom, and we loved it, but sometimes it wasn’t consistent. I had been taking and teaching yoga since I was 20 so I figured I could probably teach it at that point. But then I thought… What if I high-ify it?” And that is how YO was born. High Fitness is all about filling the niches in the fitness industry, and this was one they saw.
“It is our responsibility as a fitness company to make sure that longevity and injury prevention are a priority for our participants.” said Amber. Emily, who is a self-proclaimed “non-yogi” has fallen in love with YO. “It calms my mind without making me feel to stressed about meditation, its fun, easy to follow, and gets us to slow down and put an emphasis on stretching.” If you haven’t tried YO, you need to! FInd a class live or streaming on the app!

TONE- The New Format we want YOUR Feedback on
Have you heard about our new class “Tone Tuesday?” Same classic HIGH format in a 30min class but minus the cardio, all focused on toning those muscles! Emily taught one this last Tuesday, “I have never been so sore after a High Fitness class.” We want you to try it and send us your feedback! Look for it on the High Fitness App.
